Suara.com – A pair of SMP 01 Ciawi Bogor students are considered to have damaged the nation’s generation because they showed their dance sport on the school grounds. The Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy also commented on the dance action carried out by the two students.

Recently, a viral video has circulated of junior high school (SMP) students in Bogor City dancing in the middle of a field and being watched by other students.

“They have shown their special talents in the arts. If the teacher can direct them correctly, one day they can become great dancers and even choreographers,” Muhadjir said in a written statement, Saturday (1/21/2023).

Furthermore, Muhadjir considered, the school is also obliged to support and direct their talents and instill aesthetic values ​​that have a national personality.

“Here the teacher is also obliged to direct and instill aesthetic values ​​with Indonesian personality so that these students become the pride of the nation for the achievements they have achieved,” he said.

The dance sport action of the two students went viral on social media. This made the public shocked and thought they had spread a foreign culture that could damage the nation’s generation.

The negative response was not only associated with culture, but also with religion. Even though what they do is dance sport. This sport even has shelter in Indonesia.

On the other hand, apparently the two teenagers had already taken part in the PORPROV XIV JABAR 2022 competition. They even managed to donate three Gold Medals for SMP 01 Ciawi Bogor.
