Glenelg Ferry bosses launch petition against SSEN pylon plans

Operators of the world’s last remaining turntable ferry have launched a petition over fears plans for new pylons would have a “catastrophic effect” on its future. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) has outlined plans to install 15 new super pylons near Kyler Rhea in the south of Skye. The venture forms part of their £480 million project to replace the existing power lines from Ardmore on Skye to Fort Augustus. Rockall adventurer rescued by Coastguard after 32 days

A fundraiser who had challenged himself to spend 60 days at Rockall has called in the Coastguard after only 32 days on the uninhabited isle. Cam Cameron, an Army veteran, sets off on May 26 to spend 60 days on the remote and isolated rock, but due to “declining weather conditions” called time on his adventure today. The Maritime and Coastguard said it sent a search and rescue helicopter after receiving a distress call at 8.55am. A fixed wing aircraft was also sent to support the rescue. BC’s first Indigenous golf tournament teed off this week

Golfers of all ages from across the province began teeing off Monday in BC’s first Indigenous golf tournament. Competitors and organizers say it’s a step forward for a sport that has not historically been inclusive. “Golf has traditionally been a fairly elitist sport and the doors have been closed to many,” said competitor and event chair Christina Proteau.
