The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has created a new online tool, called the Watershed Health Assessment Framework for Lakes (WHAF for Lakes), providing easy access to water quality and health information for thousands of Minnesota lakes. Allied health groups are urging the federal government to consider new Medicare funding models to let patients see nurses, physiotherapists or counselors as their first point of call, saying overcrowded GPs with long waiting lists cannot remain as the sole entry point for the medical system.
